India’s Streak of winning home test series ended

India’s streak of winning home test series has come to an end as New Zealand captured the ongoing test series against India and go up by 2-0 in 3 match series.

This is the first time since 2012 that India have lost a test series at home soil, not a good sign before the highly-anticipated test series against Australia Border Gavaskar Trophy is in queue.

Mitchel Santner registered his career best figure of 7 for 53 from the first innings lead New Zealand for a historic win at Pune.

This was the first test series loss of India after 18 successfully bilateral series win since 2012 and a long streak comes to an end.

Not a good start Gambhir and Rohit duo wanted in his career especially before a couple of tournament, Champions trophy in Pakistan and WTC 2025 if qualifies is upcoming, though India’s Road for the qualification in WTC is more than tough.

There are a lot of questions have been raised now after back to back two test loss at home is tough to digest, where team India is collectively collapsed in both test match,

This is not the team we have been seeing over the years, we were known for the Best spin playing nation which is now under doubt.

Only two outcome for India has come up front, 1st Yashasvi Jaiswal and second Washington Sundar who was included after the 1st test defeat at Bengaluru where India bowled out for their lowest total at home soil for just 46 in the 1st innings.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma was disappointed at the toss as he also wanted to bat first in the 2nd test and forced to bowl first, by the half centuries from Devon Conway (76) and Rachin Ravindra (65) New Zealand scored at a time aiming to score 400 but Washington Sundar (7/59) helped India to wrap up NZ for 259.

Well that was looking a easy 1st innings score but Indian team bundled for scoring just 156 runs, Skipper Rohit Sharma (0) and Virat Kohli (1) was the big upset in the innings,

NZ had the lead of 103 runs before the 2nd innings and added 255 runs more and posted a huge total of 358 for India to chase in the 4th innings, Tom Latham scored brilliant 86 runs accompanied by Tom Blundell (41) and Glenn Philips 48* to post a huge total.

However chasing 359 in the 4th innings of a test is not easy ever but India’s intent was clear when Yashasvi Jaiswal hits a six against Tim Southee but again India’s defensive mindset became their enemy and reached at 245 anyhow and lost the test and series as well.

Mitchel Santner was the player of match for his brilliant match figure of 13 for 157 (7 for 53 in first Innings and 6 for 104 in the 2nd innigns).
