India women captured the series by 2-1 against NZ

India women team led by Harmanpreet Kaur captured the 3 match ODI series against NZ women by 2-1 winning the third ODI by 6 wickets, A clinical performance by Indian girls at Ahmedabad ended with a fine results in the 3rd ODI.

 

After winning the 1st game of the series by 59 runs at the same venue, the host have to face defeat in the 2nd game by 76 runs, it was the momentum loss after that defeat for the girls and comeback is never easy after the defeat but that is what we known for.

 

In the 3rd game at the same venue (Narendra Modi Stadium) New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat first, after losing the early four wickets Brooke Halliday pushed the kiwis innings and played a vital role to reach at the scoreboard of 232 before bowled out in 49.5 overs, Halliday scored 86 runs in 96 balls.

 

By the help of Deepti Sharma (3 wickets) and Priya Mishra (2 wickets), India succeeded to push a break of NZ winnings to a competitive total supported by Renuka Singh and Saima thakor who got one wicket apiece.

 

After losing Shefali Verma for 12 only, Smriti Mandhana standed tall till almost crossed the line of India’s run chase who got dismissed right after completing her Century and rest of the worked done by Yastika Bhatia (35), Harmanpreet Kaur (59) and a cameo of Jemmimah Rodrigues (22).

 

Hannah Rowe who dismissed the Indian centurion Smriti Mandhana picked 2 wickets while skipper Sophie Devine and Fran Jonas got one wicket a piece.

For her crucial knock Smriti Mandhana were adjudged as Player of the Match while Deepti Sharma awarded the player of the series.
